In 1982 the Soviet union was on the verge of a mighty judgment from God. There was only a short time to reach the doomed nation before millions were hurled into a black, godless eternity. Airlift for Jesus '82 was destined to save many thousands. God sent a Holy Ghost revival that was blanketed the Soviet Union. New believers were begging for the Word of God. Reports indicated that Communist officials were baffled and infuriated that the Christianity they tried to stamp out was flaring brighter than ever. Persecution and arrests had increaded, but the results were like puring gasoline on a raging fire.

God was saving a remnant for Himself before pouring out judgement on the most rabidly anti-Christian nation in history. But those who proclaimed the name of Christ in Russia had to prepare themselves to be beaten, imprisoned, or even killed for their beliefs.
More than six months of intensive planning, preparation, and prayer had been invested in the three-fold airlift to Russia.
